Video Game Clubs of America Opportunity for PA School Libraries
  • Video Games Club of America (VGCUSA) focuses on establishing gaming clubs in secondary educational settings to make socially awkward students socially active through the power of good sportsmanship, gaming, and social and emotional learning.

  • This project is made possible by Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

  • The Office of Commonwealth Libraries’ “Out of School Time” LSTA-funded project is working with VGCUSA to provide support and materials to 50 school libraries to offer this program for Pennsylvania youth. 

Selected Schools Will Receive
  • Receive an official award letter if selected

  • Receive a Nintendo Wii Starter Kit (Nintendo Wii, select Wii Games, HDMI adapters, 2 controllers, delivery to the school)

  • Receive up to $100 in board games to begin your collection

  • Receive a $250 administrator fee for gaming club lead mentor

Selected Schools Will Be Expected to
  • Commit to participating in a monthly community of practice for club leadership to interact, discuss, and connect with other clubs

  • Complete and submit a community of impact project

  • Help kids in your building build relationships through gaming

  • Fill out the Application and push submit.  Please have all of the signatures requested and all of your dots dotted! All Applications need to be submitted by February 23rd, 2021.

  • Please review the application selection criteria found here for specifics.

  • Selected Schools will be notified of their acceptance in early March, 2021.
